Begleyesque is a podcast from Ed Begley Jr. and Rachelle Carson-Begley, the (sometimes) loving husband-and-wife actor activist team. Each week they interview Hollywood celebrities, environmental experts, and everyday heroes about how to find happiness, health, and purpose in life.

Inspired by the works of his Academy Award-winning father, Ed Begley, Jr. became an actor. He first came to audiences’ attention for his portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the long-running hit television series, St. Elsewhere, for which he received six Emmy nominations. Since then, Begley has moved easily between feature, television and theatre projects.

Ed co-starred in the Woody Allen movie Whatever Works with Larry David, as well as the Seth Rogan/Judd Apatow film, Pineapple Express, and a number of Christopher Guest films, such as A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, For Your Consideration, and the recently released Mascots.

On television, Begley can currently be seen on Better Call Saul, Blunt Talk with Patrick Stewart, and he has recently appeared in the Netflix series Lady Dynamite with Maria Bamford.

He has starred in two HBO movies: Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight with Christopher Plummer, Danny Glover and Frank Langella, as well as Recount with Kevin Spacey, Tom Wilkinson and Laura Dern. He has also had recurring roles on Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, Portlandia, and Rizzoli & Isles.

He starred in David Mamet’s November at the Mark Taper Forum, and has appeared in several other works by this amazing playwright: The Cryptogram in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, as well as Romance also at the Mark Taper Forum.

Ed has directed several episodes of the hit show NYPD Blue, as well as a play that he wrote called Cesar and Ruben that won a Nosotros Award and four Valley Theater League Awards.

He is one of the Governors of the Motion Picture Academy and he lives in a solar powered home and drives an electric car.

Rachelle Carson-Begley is one of the most recognized names and faces in the environmental world of Hollywood.  As the wife of uber-environmentalist Ed Begley Jr., Carson-Begley opened her life to millions of people as co-star of the highly successful reality series, Living With Ed, shown on HGTV and Discovery’s Planet Green.  Now the Begley's have embarked on a new and exciting project - the building of their new LEED Platinum-certified dream home, which has been chronicled on two web series, On Green Street, directed by Raphael Sbarge for, and Our Green House on

Carson-Begley started her career in New York City and regional theater. After spending two seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival under the direction of Nikos Psacharopoulos, she headed for Los Angeles to begin working in film and television. One of her first jobs was a recurring role on the night time soap Falcon Crest, and since then she has worked consistently for the last 27 years. Most recently she appeared with her husband Ed Begley, Jr. in the movie Summerland, which is soon to be out next year. Other films include The Bling Ring directed by Sofia Coppola, The M Word, Pittsburgh, and the cult classic But I'm A Cheerleader. On television, Carson-Begley has appeared on Boston Legal, NYPD Blue, The Handler, State of Grace, Happy Family, and 8 Simple Rules to name a few.

To this day, one of the most fun and rewarding jobs has been working with her husband Ed Begley, Jr. to blend the important work of environmental activism and the world of entertainment.
